Do you know Edith Lebeau? If you don’t know her now is your chance. I had the privilege to work with her on one of her pieces featuring my fiancé Vanessa Moore. I took the photograph and sent it to Edith last fall. I am very pleased with the result. She is very talented! If you want to see more of her work click here.

Edith Lebeau is a Canadian artist based on the north shore of Montreal, Quebec. She spends most of her time painting in her studio with her Evil cat named Jack. For some time, Lebeau lived in the countryside, surrounded by fields, forest and a distant horizon line. Lebeau paints strong female figures intricately paired with fauna and flora elements. She draws inspiration from pop culture, movies, music videos, fairytales and various mythologies. Her works has been exhibited in Montreal, Berlin, Rome, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco and New York among other cities.

When spring comes it’s mandatory to go to a sugar shack.

You know… lots of people… eating grease and sugar and sometimes animals to look at before hitting the road and wonder why you ate so much.

I am not really big of animal photography but recently I got a new lens. Ho yeah… i think it’s my new favourite lens. The bokeh is creamy with a nice signature. I didn’t know we could achieve that amount of defocus with a micro 4/3 sensor.

Living in Montreal has its advantages. One of them being that its pretty close to NYC. From Montreal it will take you only 7 hours by car to be in Manhattan. Funny enough, in 10 years, it’s the first time Vanessa and I went together. The weather wasn’t so great and we got sick the first night so we decided that we would return very soon. Still, we walked so much that I rediscovered some old unused muscles in my legs.

A couple of weeks ago in Montreal we had a major snowfall. 45cm in 24h they say. I could’nt resist to get out and snap a couple of pics of my neighbours working hard to get their cars out.

I had these shots lying around since last spring. I took them while taking a walk down St-Laurent blvd around lunch time. I love that street… with its infinite amount of characters.

Several weeks ago, I finished work a little later than usual. There was a tiny fog and since my last contract location was on the Lachine canal i decided to take a little walk before heading home.

Every fall brings a fresh start. New projects, new ideas and time to think. Also there seems to be a certain amount of nostalgia that emerges, playing back the past summer in our heads and remembering how great it was. One of the things I did this summer was to contribute to a Montreal blog about cyclists and style called Montreal cycle chic. Here are my favorites.
